Borderlink, Inc. is now hiring an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) for Tainai City, Niigata Prefecture. This position starts in January 2026, but you can apply now to secure it in advance. 【Position Details】
Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) work alongside Japanese teachers to make English lessons fun and engaging for the students. Practicing grammar and vocabulary, participating in games and activities to reinforce the lesson’s goals and communicating with students both inside and outside of the classroom are all part of a day’s work for ALTs.
⚫ Contract period: January 13th, 2026 to March 24th, 2026
⚫ Contract type: Full-time
⚫ Level: Elementary and junior high schools
⚫ General working hours: Between 7:45 am to 16:00 pm (actual working time: 06 hours 45 minutes)
⚫ Salary range: Between 235,000 yen to 250,000 yen / month
⚫ Benefits: Social Insurance
【Requirements】
ALTs should be motivated, enthusiastic, professional and proactive in communicating with others. Successful applicants must also meet the following criteria:
🔺 Already be living in Japan and hold a valid visa permitting work
🔺 Have native-level English proficiency with natural phonetic fluency and a minimum of 12 years of education where the main language of instruction in all classes was English
🔺Be a university graduate holding a bachelor's degree or higher
🔺 Have conversational Japanese skills and be comfortable talking with teachers and staff
🔺 Are in good health and able to commit and complete the contract period (until March 2026)
🔺 Highly motivated, outgoing and friendly; able to proactively share ideas and communicate fully with other teachers
🔺 Hold a valid Japanese Driver's License or International Driving Permit (IDP) and be able to drive a car in Japan.

Tainai City is located in northeastern Niigata prefecture, about 1 hour from Niigata City. It features beautiful sea, mountain, and pastoral landscapes and hosts annual tulip, star, and ski festivals. Those who enjoy the sea can visit Muramatsuhama Swimming Beach while those who enjoy snow can visit Tainai Ski Resort. Other local attractions include Tossaka Castle, and Oppo-ji, a Buddhist temple with a 3-story pagoda.
