In spring, the Town attracts many visitors for being a prime location to view cherry blossoms. Another local attracton is the historic Mogami River Railway Bridge (Arato Railway Bridge), Japan's oldest active railway bridge. Whether hiking aorund Mt. Shirataka or enjoying the hot springs of Furusato Forest Park, there's quite a lot to do in this rustic treasure trove hidden up north.
